Legislative Luncheon at Western Oklahoma State College: A Day of Insights and Inspiration

Last Updated 6/13/2024Posted in Student Member

On June 13, 2024, the Altus Kiwanis Club hosted a wonderful Legislative Luncheon at the beautiful Western Oklahoma State College. The event brought together community members, local leaders, and students for an engaging and informative afternoon.

The luncheon kicked off with a warm welcome from the Altus Kiwanis Club, setting a positive and energetic tone for the day. We are incredibly grateful to Western Oklahoma State College for providing their excellent facilities, which perfectly accommodated our gathering.

A highlight of the event was hearing from Senator Brent Howard and Representative Gerrid Kendrix. Their speeches provided valuable insights into current legislative developments and offered a glimpse into the future of our community and state. Their dedication to serving our community was truly inspiring.

In addition to our esteemed legislators, we had the pleasure of hearing from Chamber Student Member, Aubrey Heller. Aubrey presented her own legislative ideas with poise and passion, showcasing the incredible potential of our young leaders. It was a proud moment for everyone to see such talent and dedication from our youth.

The luncheon was more than just speeches; it was a chance for community members to connect, share ideas, and enjoy each other's company. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and a shared commitment to making Altus a better place for everyone.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this event. Special thanks to the Altus Kiwanis Club for organizing the luncheon and to Western Oklahoma State College for hosting us. Your support and participation are what make events like this possible.

As we reflect on the June 13th luncheon, we're reminded of the power of community and the importance of staying informed and involved in the legislative process. We look forward to more events like this in the future, where we can continue to learn, grow, and work together for the betterment of Altus.

Thank you again to Senator Brent Howard, Representative Gerrid Kendrix, and Aubrey Heller for your contributions. And thank you to everyone who joined us. It was great seeing you all, and we can't wait to gather again soon!
