🌟 Show pride in our community and be part of a long-standing Altus tradition
In 2024, the Committee of 100 celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Founded in 1984 by civic leaders like Linda Copeland, John Gover, Dick Moore, Herschal Crow, Holley Urbanski, Aaron Burleson, and Don Johnson, the Committee of 100 was created to warmly welcome newcomers to Altus Air Force Base and the community at large. What started as a simple idea has grown into one of Altus’ most recognized and respected programs—honored even by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force.
Our members host fun, free events like Taste of Altus each year, rattlesnake education shows, and seasonal meet-and-greets. Your support makes it all possible, whether you're serving food, helping decorate, or simply shaking hands.
Join the Committee of 100 today and be part of something meaningful. Whether you're an individual with a heart for community or a business that wants to give back and be seen, there’s a place for you here.
First -
Download and Complete the Committee Application
Then -
Bring it into our office with your cash or check. All checks are made out to the Altus Chamber of Commerce.
The Committee of 100 Board members meets on the first Tuesday of each month to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. These meetings are where we:
Review the budget and current funds
Plan upcoming welcome events and set goals for outreach
Assign tasks and coordinate volunteers for setup, food service, and decorations
Brainstorm new ideas to keep our program fresh, fun, and meaningful
Board members help shape the vision for the Committee of 100 and ensure we stay focused on making newcomers feel truly welcomed to Altus. Interested in serving on the board in the future? Just ask—we’re always looking for passionate leaders.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible individuals and businesses who have donated $100 to join the Committee of 100. Your generous contributions help cover food costs, insurance, venues, prizes, and more. Because of your support, we can host these fantastic free events that bring our community together.
We couldn’t do it without you! Thank you for making a difference and being an integral part of our community. Your donations truly keep Altus's spirit alive and thriving.
A deep and sincere thank you to our Committee of 100 members!
