The Altus Chamber of Commerce would like to WELCOME you to the community. Our people in Altus are very open and friendly and it is our hope that you will find your stay enjoyable. Our goal is make you feel that this is your "second home" or your "home away from home".
The Chamber of Commerce is a great resource for community events, from the Chili Cook-Off to the Great Plains Rodeo, we are also able to provide information on cultural events, historic and scenic attractions in and around Altus.
We strive to build a great relationship between the community and Altus Air Force Base. Our goal is to be "one" community. To better help you understand this relationship, we've provided some basic facts about our organization.
The Altus Chamber of Commerce:
- Answers questions about business, facilities and the community
- Maintains a library of City Directories, Community Organizations and a Welcome Packet with information about our schools, churches, restaurants, motels and shopping.
- Develops strong community/base ties with our Committee of 100. We sponsor newcomer activities, which give our military and civilian families the opportunity to come together and get to know each other better.
- Assists local businesses with concerns and activities.
- Provides counseling services for those considering new business ventures, as well as those needing financial assistance.
- Works collectively with volunteers and other organizations to foster growth and development for our area of the state. We "Make a Difference".
